Scientists from China have developed a new material that can change its color at the molecular level, depending on the lighting, creating a camouflage effect similar to that of a chameleon. This technology has great potential in various fields, including military applications and architecture. The material can change its color through a process called
'self-adaptive photochromism.'
The key to changing color lies in a molecular compound that alters its structure under the influence of light of a certain wavelength. This allows the material to blend in with the surrounding environment. Researchers believe this technology will enable the creation of adaptive camouflage without the need for an external power source or complex electronics.
Previously, Chinese scientists explored the possibility of destroying satellites, including the Starlink system of SpaceX, using lasers from submarines. Located at a shallow depth, such a device can deploy an optoelectronic device, take a shot, and quickly submerge.
