Robot Sets Guinness Record: Walked over 100 km without stopping

According to Korrespondent.net: The Chinese humanoid robot Agibot A2 officially set a Guinness record by walking 106.29 km without turning off, as reported by Interesting Engineering. Its route stretched from Jinji Lake in Suzhou to the Bund waterfront in Shanghai, and the transition lasted three days, from November 10 to 13. The robot first covered such a long distance on foot without any reboots, thanks to a hot-swapping battery system that allows it to maintain power without interruptions.

Recognition of Agibot A2's Achievements

The company explained that this test aimed to demonstrate the stability and reliability of the technologies.

'Walking from Suzhou to Shanghai without a break is not easy even for a human, but the robot managed it,'
- noted AgiBot's Senior Vice President Wang Chuan. He also added that this test confirmed the endurance of the hardware, the balance of movements, and the control system, demonstrating A2's readiness for real commercial use.

Specifications of A2

Agibot A2 is a humanoid robot 175 cm tall and weighing 55 kg, equipped with artificial intelligence for processing text, voice, and visual information. This robot is capable of performing precise manipulations, such as threading a needle. During the journey, A2 moved along city roads and park areas, crossing bridges, highways, and various surfaces. Navigation was provided by dual GPS modules, Lidar, and infrared cameras, which allowed it to navigate in changing lighting conditions. After completing the route, the robot remained fully operational, experiencing only normal wear of the rubber soles.

Mass Production

The test used a standard serial unit without modifications. The company has already released over a thousand such robots by 2025.

It is worth noting that earlier reports mentioned the introduction of the first humanoid robot with water resistance in China. The powerful technologies of Agibot A2 open new horizons for the integration of robots into various fields, from industry to everyday life. This record could be an important step in the development of autonomous technologies that may change our perception of assistive and service robots in the future.
