UEFA Club Ranking: Where are 'Dynamo' and 'Shakhtar' after unsuccessful games.
Ukrainian teams did not impress opponents in the Champions League and Europa League
Kyiv "Dynamo" and Donetsk "Shakhtar" began their performances in the Champions League and Europa League with two consecutive losses. Both clubs failed to score a goal against their opponents. As a result, Ukrainian teams have dropped in the European club ranking published by UEFA.
In the first round of the Champions League, "Shakhtar" played against "Bologna", but the match ended in a nil-nil draw. Both clubs had their chances, but neither could take advantage of them. Additionally, "Shakhtar" suffered several injuries including to Danylo Sikan and Yukhym Konoplia.
In the second round, "Shakhtar" faced "Atalanta" and lost 0:3. "Atalanta" was the dominating team on the field, scoring two goals before the break and another at the start of the second half.
These results have complicated "Shakhtar's" situation in the group stage of the Champions League. In the club ranking, "Shakhtar" holds the 37th place alongside the French "Marseille".
In the Europa League, "Dynamo Kyiv" suffered two defeats. In the first match, the Kyiv team lost to "Lazio" 0:3, and in the second match, they were defeated by "Hoffenheim" 0:2. In both matches, "Dynamo" failed to score a single goal.
Currently, "Dynamo Kyiv" is in 71st place in the club ranking, trailing by 1,500 points behind French "Lyon".
These results of the Ukrainian teams align with recent failures of the national teams of Ukraine in football and futsal.
In futsal, Ukraine's national team failed to reach the final of the world championship but secured "bronze" in the match for third place against France with a score of 7:1.
