When will the prolonged rains in Ukraine end? Forecast by meteorologist.
Weather in Ukraine: atmospheric front and unstable weather
The weather in Ukraine is currently determined by a stationary atmospheric front that stretches from north to south and divides two different air masses. According to meteorologist Natalia Ptukhа from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, wet and cool air prevails in the Right Bank, while dry and warm air predominates in most of the country.
This week, the atmospheric front will also lead to unstable weather with rain in many regions:
significant rain is expected tomorrow (Tuesday, May 27) in Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, and in the Chernivtsi region (at night - locally in Kyiv region);
significant rain is likely the day after tomorrow (Wednesday, May 28) in the Carpathians and in Prykarpattia.
At the same time, the eastern and northeastern regions are expected to be dry on May 27-28, and there may also be isolated gusts of wind. Natalia Ptukhа also noted that in the last days of May, short-term rains and localized thunderstorms are expected in Ukraine, but the temperature is unlikely to change significantly.
At the beginning of June, a stable temperature regime is expected, and regarding precipitation, a prolonged dry spell is not anticipated. According to the forecast for June 2025, the average monthly air temperature in Ukraine will be above normal, and the amount of precipitation will fall within the expected indicators.
