Zelensky named the deadline for the end of the war: what is happening at the negotiating table.
According to ТСН: President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed the opinion that the war in Ukraine may end within the next six months.
Speech at the Cyprus Presidency Ceremony
This information was voiced during his speech at the opening of Cyprus's presidency in the EU Council. Zelensky noted:
“We in Ukraine want our territorial integrity and sovereignty to be respected. I am glad to be here at a time when the Republic of Cyprus takes over the presidency of the European Union, and we expect much from this presidency. This is a very important moment for Ukraine.”
Expectations during the Cyprus Presidency
The head of state added that Ukraine hopes for the implementation of a new aid package during Cyprus's presidency. This package will help strengthen the resilience of all Europe. He also expressed hope that the conflict with Russia could end within these six months.
Zelensky emphasized:
“Negotiations have reached a new milestone together with our European partners and, of course, with the USA and all participants of the 'Coalition of the Willing'. We understand that this war may end during your presidency.”.
Earlier, the president also commented on the Kremlin's stubbornness in the negotiation process.
Within the framework of Cyprus's presidency in the EU Council, Ukraine hopes for new changes in the diplomatic process that may affect the situation in the region.
