Ukrainian military has started to destroy Russian strike drones Shahed with FPV-drones - the first results are already in. This was reported by 'Glavkom' citing an interview with Liga.net with the commander of the Drone Forces Vadim Sukharevsky.

For example, when 'shaheds' flew at us from Russia, we quickly created thousands of mobile fire groups that showed high efficiency. The Russians saw that it was working ineffectively. And they began to change tactics, started to improve and change altitudes. What did we switch to? Now we are starting to destroy 'shaheds' with FPV-drones. And this is already yielding real results.

The commander explained that what follows is a constant technological arms race.

Every operation of ours is a moment of considering various intelligence data: regarding REB, their air defense, as well as objective security, passive protection. For example, covering airfields, burying planes or tanks. Therefore, planning is everything for us. Without this, it is impossible.

The commander of the Drone Forces also mentioned that Ukraine is already increasing strikes on military infrastructure objects in Russian territory; however, he pointed out that this requires sufficient funding and technologies.

It is noteworthy that Ukraine will soon have the capability to destroy Russian strike drones of the 'Shahed' type using laser technologies, which will be a weapon of Ukrainian production. This was stated by the commander of the Drone Forces Vadim Sukharevsky in an interview on the Pressing YouTube channel.

Speaking of the weapon named 'Trident', which became known at the end of 2024, the commander emphasized that 'we managed to do this literally in a few months.'

He explained that this is a 'working thing' that 'burns through metal' and 'is already shooting down planes during tests.' The military added that soon, alongside mobile fire groups 'which, as everyone is used to, destroy 'shaheds' with machine guns and thermal imagers, 'there will be the same machine, but already with a laser.'

Syrsky also named the most effective drones in the Ukrainian army.
