The Russian army uses dangerous chemical substances in the war against Ukraine. Information and statistics on usage are available on the Facebook page of the Command of the Support Forces of the AFU.
In September of this year, Russian occupation forces used munitions equipped with dangerous chemical substances 250 times against the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
K-51 – Soviet hand aerosol "tear gas" grenade of non-lethal action.
RG-Ve – hand chemical grenade of Russian manufacture. Active substance – chloroacetophenone (CN) or 2-chlorobenzalmalononitrile (CS).
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Ukrainian radiation, chemical, and biological reconnaissance units have recorded 4228 cases of chemical substance usage.
The use of chemical weapons is prohibited by the Chemical Weapons Convention (1997). It is a violation of the rules of warfare and leads to severe humanitarian consequences.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed concern that Russia uses mercenaries from Africa in this war, destabilizing the situation in the region.
Russia increasingly employs irregular military formations against Ukraine, reports the Ministry of Defense of Britain.
The relocation of Russian military units from the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions in southern Ukraine has also been detected.
