First release of Nike sneakers on a 3D printer
Nike Company has presented sneakers that were made on a 3D printer in collaboration with Zellerfeld. This news was reported by VoxelMatters.
The Nike Air Max 1000 sneaker model is entirely red and features an elegant no-lace design with raised details across the body.
The foundation of the Air Max 1000 is a 3D design developed using thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), a flexible and durable material that allows for complex structures and lightweight construction. Polyurethane makes the sneakers not only durable but also environmentally friendly due to reduced waste during production.
To create these unique shoes, Nike collaborated with Zellerfeld, which has already produced designer sneaker models for renowned brands like Kidsuper and Louis Vuitton using advanced 3D printing technologies.
While Nike has not announced the release date for the limited edition Air Max 1000, the company's innovation director, John Hawk, noted the significance of this breakthrough.
For me as an innovator, what is most interesting about the Air Max 1000 are the new solutions we can achieve through next-level manufacturing. This control, precision, and expression are all vital for sports and design.
The innovative model was presented at the ComplexCon festival in Las Vegas.
Earlier, a hotel cleaner in Turkey threw away a Russian's Balenciaga sneakers. The luxury shoes were found in the trash.
