Ukraine to purchase 20 high-speed electric trains from Korea: details of the agreement.
According to inkorr.com: Olexiy Kuleba met with representatives from Korea to discuss the development of Ukraine's railway infrastructure. During this meeting, the issue of financing the purchase of 20 high-speed electric trains of Korean manufacture was raised, which could significantly improve passenger transport and modernize the fleet of 'Ukrzaliznytsia'.
He emphasized the importance of a transparent and open competition among companies for the procurement of new electric trains. It was also noted that Korea offers Ukraine concessional financing of up to $2.1 billion USD for the period from 2024 to 2029. This will become one of the largest instruments of support for the Ukrainian railway from partners in Asia.
