Victory of the rebels in Syria: the capital captured, power handed over to the opposition

The capital of Syria, Damascus, has been captured by the rebels, who announced their victory over the regime of President Bashar Assad. After nearly 25 years of Assad's rule, celebrations are taking place in the capital to mark the transfer of power, and the main square is celebrating the fall of the regime. The rebels have also besieged an important prison where government opponents were held.

Syrian Prime Minister Mohammed al-Jalali announced the readiness to hand over power to the opposition and collaborate with any new leadership elected by the people. President Bashar Assad's plane left Damascus, but its destination remains unknown. There are also reports of a Syrian Airlines plane landing in Budapest, where the President of Syria or his associate may be located.

These events are a result of the escalation of the situation in the northern part of the country. The rebels have destroyed many fighters of government forces, including soldiers of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps. On November 30, the rebels took control of the city of Aleppo and later expanded their influence to other areas. Russian military personnel and diplomats are also leaving the country, and President Bashar Assad's wife fled to Russia with their three children.

In this situation, the rebels announced their victory and nationwide celebrations are taking place in Damascus. The Syrian Prime Minister has stated readiness to transfer power to the opposition, indicating the country's willingness for new leadership.

The situation in Syria is still far from stability, but the rebels have made significant breakthroughs by capturing the capital. This could significantly impact future events in the region.
