Russia prepares January offensive: key attacks in the Pokrovsk direction

According to ТСН: The occupiers are trying to reach the village of Hryshyne in the Donetsk region to block logistical routes for the Armed Forces of Ukraine operating in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad.

According to a military expert, there are currently 3-4 serious attacks per week in the direction of this settlement.

“If the Russians control Hryshyne, they will be able to cut off logistics at a distance of 10-15 kilometers using FPV drones that support our operations in Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad. Therefore, it is crucial to prevent them from advancing into Hryshyne. This is strategically necessary for the Russians,”

the expert explained. He added that the enemy has no other options but to push the Ukrainian army out of Pokrovsk and Myrnohrad, so attacks on Hryshyne will continue.

Situation in other regions

Meanwhile, the lieutenant colonel reported a decrease in the intensity of attacks in the Sumy, Luhansk, and Kharkiv regions compared to several weeks ago. However, the actions of the enemy indicate possible preparations for an offensive already in January.

In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian occupiers continue to attack in small infantry assault groups, which are consistently being destroyed by the Defense Forces, indicating that the enemy has large reserves of manpower.

Thus, the situation around Hryshyne remains tense. The Ukrainian military has the task of maintaining control over this strategically important settlement while simultaneously responding to threats from other directions. Ahead of potential large-scale attacks, it is important to stay alert and be ready for changes in the combat situation.
