The last person to see Jay Slater alive returns to Tenerife: family reaction.
'Rocky' returns to the Airbnb cottage in Tenerife where Jay Slater disappeared
According to The Sun: Stephen Rockas, known as Rocky, was one of the last people to see Jay Slater alive before he vanished from the cottage in Tenerife. Recently, Rocky returned to the very same cabin where Jay was last seen.
He seemed to be wearing a 'West Ham' t-shirt, showing the area and wrote 'views' in the caption.
This move sparked outrage as Rocky previously refused to appear at hearings regarding Jay's disappearance earlier this year.
Jay's mother, Debbie, expressed concern and stress regarding Rocky's return, questioning his motives and stating, 'I hope people start asking him questions.'
The tragic disappearance of Jay Slater
Jay Slater, a 19-year-old apprentice bricklayer from Lancashire, went missing while on holiday in Tenerife. He made a disturbing call to a friend before his disappearance, informing that he was lost, exhausted, and injured.
After extensive searches, Jay's body was found near a ravine in Masca. Despite the tragic outcome, key witnesses, including Rocky and another individual, did not participate in the initial hearing.
Debbie Duncan, Jay's mother, has been suffering tremendous pain and uncertainty since her son's disappearance as the investigation into his death still lacks comprehensive answers or eyewitness testimony.
Kasim also testified at the hearing via video link. However, Rocky did not appear. Coroner James Aidley stated: '[Rocky] is doing this at his discretion. Since he is abroad, I cannot compel him to give evidence.'
The authorities attempted to serve Rocky with a witness summons but failed to locate him at various addresses in London and Manchester.
