Lifecell's Tariff Plan Adjustments

According to Novyny.live: Ukrainian mobile operator lifecell has stopped allowing new customer sign-ups for its 'Turbohta' tariff plan as of February 18, 2023. This plan was originally introduced in 2025 for customers aged 55 and over. The move was accompanied by revised service terms for existing subscribers, including a significant increase in the monthly fee.

Under the new terms, the monthly subscription fee for current 'Turbohta' customers has risen from 100 to 190 hryvnias. Furthermore, starting February 19, 2023, the plan was renamed the 'Promotional Tariff Plan Turbohta'. Initial packages from the old version of the tariff have also been migrated to the conditions of the 'Universal' package. This is part of a broader industry trend where telecom operators periodically revise legacy plans.

Revisions to Other Tariff Plans

Changes have also affected other lifecell plans. The 'Mega' tariff now costs 550 hryvnias for a four-week period, while the 'Maksi' tariff, designed for numbers ported into the operator's network, has increased from 190 to 270 hryvnias for the same four-week cycle.

The 'Turbohta' plan previously offered subscribers the following benefits:

  • 20 GB of mobile data;
  • Unlimited calls within the lifecell network;
  • 1000 minutes to other Ukrainian numbers;
  • Unlimited access to select messaging apps and social networks.

However, with the introduction of the new terms, access to these advantages is now restricted to existing customers only.

These pricing adjustments likely signal a strategic shift by lifecell to optimize its service portfolio and boost revenue in a competitive market. Halting new subscriptions for 'Turbohta' and transitioning to updated terms may be aimed at reducing the costs associated with maintaining older, less profitable tariffs, while focusing on more lucrative plans. This decision could also impact the loyalty of long-term customers who have grown accustomed to the plan's previous benefits.
