Ukrainian companies received $435 million for the restoration of Ukraine's telecommunications sector
Mykhailo Fedorov, Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, announced that European partners allocated $435 million to lifecell LLC and Datagroup-Volia. These funds are intended for the restoration of Ukraine's telecommunications sector, which has suffered from military actions.
Fedorov shared this information on his Telegram channel.
According to him, the received funds will be used to purchase new equipment, which will allow expanding the coverage of fixed and mobile internet in Ukraine, as well as improve the quality of mobile communication.
The minister warned that stable communication is an integral part of normal life for every person, especially under conditions when the enemy strives to destroy the country's telecommunications network.
Fedorov emphasized that providing Ukrainians with the opportunity to call emergency services, communicate with relatives, work, and study online is extremely important. He stressed that investments are currently a key factor in ensuring the stability of communication in the country.
The head of the Ministry of Digital Transformation expressed gratitude to the International Finance Corporation, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, as well as the European Commission and the French government for understanding the importance of supporting Ukraine's telecommunications industry.
