Worldwide, doctors have registered the emergence of a new strain of coronavirus among patients called Stratus (XFG). This variant of the virus is distinguished by extreme fatigue and weakness, which 'literally brings you to your knees'.

Differences of the Stratus coronavirus strain

One of the main symptoms is voice loss, for example, hoarseness similar to laryngopharyngitis.

In such favorable climatic conditions, it is easy to confuse these symptoms with a normal reaction to cold drinks or ice cream. However, a particular feature of the new Stratus strain is that a general blood test may remain unchanged.

This may indicate a delayed reaction of the immune system, so self-treatment can be dangerous, notes doctor Vita Oleshenko. She urges everyone to consult a doctor at the first signs of symptoms, such as weakness, sore throat, voice loss, or runny nose.

Medical workers have also recorded an increase in cases of other seasonal viruses, such as respiratory syncytial infections and metapneumovirus infections. However, according to the doctor, there is currently no specific treatment — assistance is limited to symptomatic measures.

Despite the prevalence of the new strain, Vita Oleshenko urges not to panic. According to her, the situation does not constitute a large-scale epidemic requiring the closure of facilities or the implementation of strict restrictions.

Recall that specialists previously explained why one can fall ill even in summer and how to protect oneself. At the end of July, medical workers warned of an increase in the incidence of measles.

A new strain of coronavirus known as Stratus (XFG) has been detected worldwide, characterized by serious symptoms such as severe fatigue and voice loss. Doctors advise against self-treatment and to consult a doctor immediately when symptoms appear, although there is currently no specific treatment as assistance is limited to symptomatic measures. It is also important to stay calm and not panic, as the situation does not yet require strict restrictions on the population.
