Lindsey Graham Announces White House Deal on Russia Sanctions Bill.
Sanctions Agreement Targeting Russia
According to Espreso.tv: Senator Lindsey Graham has announced that a deal has been reached with the White House on a Russia sanctions bill. The legislation, backed by 85 cosponsors, would grant President Trump the authority to impose tariffs and sanctions. Graham made the announcement during his visit to Kyiv, stressing that passing the bill is critical to strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities.
'About 30 minutes ago, we reached an agreement with the White House on a version of the Russia sanctions bill that they will support,' Lindsey Graham stated.
He also emphasized that passing the sanctions package is essential for aiding Ukraine in its struggle. 'This bill will give President Trump the tools to help end this war,' the senator added.
Key Provisions of the Bill
The proposed legislation includes sanctions targeting countries that purchase Russian oil or gas. Senator Blumenthal is also a cosponsor of this significant document. Graham plans to return to Washington, where he and Blumenthal will appeal to Republican and Democratic leaders to build further support for the bill.
'This means it can become law,' Lindsey Graham concluded.
If successfully passed, this bill could significantly increase economic pressure on Russia, marking a key step in supporting Ukraine and bolstering international security. Bipartisan backing in Congress reflects broad recognition of the threats posed by Russia's aggressive actions, especially amid the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. This deal comes at a time when Western allies are seeking unified measures to counter Russian aggression.
