What Shifted Trump's Stance? U.S.-Ukraine Military Cooperation Now a Decisive Factor.
Evolving U.S.-Russia Relations
According to Espreso.tv: In a recent interview, Russian opposition expert Oleksandr Morozov—currently based in Prague—analyzed the changing dynamics between Washington and Moscow, alongside the deepening military-technological partnership between Ukraine and the United States. Morozov observed that President Donald Trump is increasingly stepping away from the notion of a swift deal with the Kremlin. This development signals that Trump's approach toward Russia is growing more cautious.
During the conversation, Morozov emphasized that
“the careful tone Trump now uses when discussing Russia and Putin shows he has absorbed assessments confirming that Putin has no intention of ending the war”- Oleksandr Morozov. This suggests that international tensions remain high and that any peace initiatives may be postponed indefinitely.
U.S.-Ukraine Military-Technological Partnership
The interview also touched on the military-technological collaboration between Ukraine and the United States. On July 9, 2023, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that U.S. drones had been handed over for testing. Morozov pointed out that
“the decisive factor going forward will be the already established military cooperation between Ukrainian entities and major American companies”- Oleksandr Morozov. This collaboration could significantly enhance Ukraine's defensive capabilities in its ongoing confrontation with Russia.
Notably, Serhiy Kyslytsya, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Office, underscored that in Washington,
- “they love winners”
Overall, Morozov's interview sheds fresh light on the intricate web of relations among the U.S., Russia, and Ukraine, highlighting both the challenges and opportunities in the military-technological sphere. Given the emerging trends in Trump's policy, military-technical cooperation between Ukraine and the U.S. is expected to take center stage in future negotiations and international relations, particularly regarding regional stability.
