Lomachenko made an anti-Ukrainian post and accused Epiphanius of opening a 'religious front'.
The world champion in lightweight boxing Vasyl Lomachenko once again made an anti-Ukrainian post in which he repeated the theses of Russian propaganda about the reform of the church calendar in Ukraine. The boxer did not like the interview of His Beatitude Epiphanius, the Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine, where he spoke about the reform of the church calendar.
«A vivid example of when black is called white!… The few who remain celebrating according to the old calendar? No, we are millions! «I have always stated and I state that we want this process to take place peacefully and calmly, without confrontation, because we do not have the right to open another religious front inside Ukraine». So you opened it, and not peacefully and calmly, but with force and impudence, when you beat the old and women, after which you seized Our Churches!»
Lomachenko also believes that the Orthodox Church of Ukraine preaches violence and hatred.
«High freedom of worship? No, there are severe persecutions of people who do not want to transition to the OCU, faithful Christians see what is happening and understand where the true Apostolic Church is! The majority of people are against transitioning to a church that preaches violence and hatred».
It is worth noting that Lomachenko has previously declared 82% of Ukrainians to be godless. He also expressed his opinion on the adoption of a law prohibiting the activities of religious organizations that act aggressively against Ukraine.
Recall that Lomachenko has previously written about those who participate in banning the UOC MP and expressed his dissatisfaction with the reform of the church calendar. He also noted that the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada does not consider the draft law on banning the UOC MP.
Thus, Lomachenko continues to express his thoughts on religious issues in Ukraine, repeating the theses of Russian propaganda.
