Lviv Regional State Administration appealed to Zelensky regarding the conferment of the title of Hero of Ukraine to Farion.

The Lviv Regional Military Administration appealed to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, with a request to confer the title of Hero of Ukraine posthumously to linguist Iryna Farion. This was reported by 'Gklavkom' citing her daughter, Sofia Osoba.
'On July 24, 2024, thanks to Mykhailo Shevelyuk and Oksana Mykytiuk, a petition was registered to confer the title of Hero of Ukraine (posthumously) to Iryna Farion. Despite the blockage, in September it gathered 25 thousand votes. Now, the second important step has been taken: the Lviv Regional Military Administration sent an official letter to President Volodymyr Zelensky requesting the conferment of this high title,' the message states.
Sofia Osoba hopes that Zelensky will grant Farion this title:
'Mr. President, as the daughter of Iryna Farion, the widow of the fallen warrior Vasyl Osoba, I believe that you will put your signature and that Iryna Farion will become a Hero of Ukraine! For her grandchildren Evunya and Dmytryk, this is important, as it is for all conscious Ukrainians. For it was Iryna Farion who defended the Ukrainian state, its language, and culture in the rear!
In Ukraine, on September 4, the collection of signatures for a petition to the Cabinet of Ministers proposing to grant Iryna Farion the title of 'Hero of Ukraine' (posthumously) ended. The petition was published on July 24 by Mykhailo Shevelyuk on the government's website.
After that, Mykhailo Shevelyuk received two identical responses from the administration of the electronic petition service of the presidential website regarding the registration of the electronic petition for the conferment of the Hero of Ukraine (posthumously) to Iryna Farion. This is stated in the investigation by 'Gklavkom' - 'Hero of Ukraine - Iryna Farion. How Bankova stalled the petition.'
Bankova refused to state that 'the initiated petition to the President of Ukraine did not meet the requirements, thus it could not be published on the website of the head of state.'
