Lviv Student Scores Perfect 800 on National Exam: Who Gets the Prize?.
Top Student Achievement and Safety Concerns
According to Novyny.live: A graduate from Lviv's 'Grono' Lyceum, Yuriy Hashchuk, has achieved a perfect score of 800 on the National Multi-Subject Test (NMT). This outstanding performance highlights his strong grasp of multiple subjects, earning top marks in mathematics, Ukrainian language, chemistry, and the history of Ukraine.
Andriy Zakalyuk, Director of the Department of Education and Culture at the Lviv City Council, emphasized the importance of such accomplishments for the city's educational community. In response, the city is preparing financial rewards for its highest-performing students. Those who score 400, 600, or 800 on the NMT receive cash prizes from the municipality, serving as an incentive for academic excellence.
Safety Issues and Community Activism
However, it is not only academic successes that are drawing public attention. Recently, Lviv has seen a rise in injuries to children using electric scooters. Over the past three months, more than 100 children have been hospitalized, and last year, three minors died from severe injuries. These incidents highlight the urgent need to address safety concerns with new modes of transportation.
On June 13, a rally took place near the Taras Shevchenko monument in Lviv under the slogan 'Don't Stay Silent — Captivity Kills,' demonstrating the community's active engagement with critical social issues.
High academic results, like Yuriy Hashchuk's, reflect positive developments in Lviv's education system and can inspire other students. At the same time, the safety problems linked to electric scooters call for immediate action from local authorities to prevent further tragedies. Community initiatives, such as the gathering at the Shevchenko monument, further underscore the importance of collective efforts to improve life in the city.
