Main suspect in the McCann case will be released from prison: what will happen next.
According to The Sun: It has become known that the main suspect in the case of the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, Christian Brueckner, will be released from prison next month.
The 48-year-old German paedophile is set to be free no later than September 17, as his seven-year prison term for rape is ending.
Christian Brueckner will soon be released from prison in Germany Madeleine McCann disappeared in Praia da Luz, Portugal on May 3, 2007Prosecutor Hans Christian Wolters emphasized that there are no grounds for appeal or contesting the arrest and warned: “You should expect that he may commit new crimes.”
Brueckner, who is serving a sentence for the rape of a 72-year-old woman from the USA, does not rule out the possibility of fleeing Germany to avoid potential charges in the case of Madeleine's disappearance if he manages to get to a country without extradition.
On May 3, 2007, when Madeleine, who was three years old, disappeared while on vacation in Praia da Luz, a large-scale search campaign was launched.
The police continues the investigation, and Mr. Wolters noted that a case is being formed against Brueckner: “He is not only our number one suspect; he is our only suspect.”
“We have evidence against him, but in our opinion, it is not strong enough to guarantee the likelihood of a conviction.”
An investigation conducted by The Sun this year uncovered new shocking evidence, including information about his obsession with kidnapping blondes.
