A cheaper alternative to Terry’s Chocolate Orange appears online: what is being offered to customers.
According to The Sun: On the eve of Christmas, one of the major supermarkets pleasantly surprised customers with a novelty - chocolate segments with an orange flavor, reminiscent of the popular Terry’s Chocolate Orange.
Many sweet lovers rushed to the chocolate section, discussing this new product.
Getty snackreviews / FacebookThe Asda supermarket is offering these chocolate segments that will add a festive mood to everyone.
The product is described as "chocolate segments with natural orange oil, filled with popping candies".
One shopper shared her discovery on Facebook after visiting Asda.
Other users actively reacted to her post, liking, tagging friends, and commenting.
“This sounds delicious,” said one person.
“Tasty.”
“I need this, haha!”
However, traditional British chocolate favorites are facing reduced weights and increased prices this year.
Terry’s Chocolate Oranges are no exception, with their weight decreased by 7.6% – from 157 grams to 145 grams.
Additionally, at stores like Tesco, the price of this iconic chocolate has risen from £1.50 to £2.
In Sainsbury’s and Morrisons supermarkets, prices have also increased to £2.50.
Nevertheless, the brand continues to delight customers with new flavors of its popular chocolate segments ahead of Christmas.
At the beginning of the month, a new flavor appeared – Terry’s Chocolate Caramel, now available for sale.
This new variant costs £2 at Co-op and Iceland stores, eliciting various reactions among customers.
Terry's has also introduced a new flavor of its truffle chocolates.
Mint-flavored truffles weighing 200 grams can already be found online and in stores for £4.50, causing a real buzz among chocolate lovers.
Another major supermarket offered an alternative to the popular Get Baked chocolate orange pie.
For less than £4, Tesco is now offering a Chocolate Orange “Bertha” pie, which usually costs £16.
This new dessert is a limited batch pie from the family business Studio Bakery.
Thus, supermarkets are actively responding to customer demand by offering new flavors and affordable alternatives to well-known products, which certainly adds a festive spirit on the eve of Christmas. The new chocolate offerings have already sparked interest, and customers are lavish with compliments and discussions, indicating a high interest in sweets before the holidays.
