Macron addresses Trump on tariffs and the war in Ukraine.
The French President calls for attention to global issues
French President Emmanuel Macron stated that there needs to be greater attention to important global issues, not just trade tariffs. He emphasized the complex challenges the world is currently facing, including the conflict in Ukraine, the tense situation in the Middle East, and the geopolitical confrontation between the USA and China. He also noted the rapid development of technologies such as artificial intelligence and clean technologies.
Macron stressed that trade tariffs should not be the main priority. He urged the European Union to be active and to define its own agenda.
'We must act for ourselves and develop our own project,' Macron stated.
The French President emphasized three key priorities: strengthening competitiveness, developing defense and security policy. He noted that even in the case of tariff issues, Europe is ready to discuss them and find constructive solutions.
Earlier, it became known that the trade war between the USA and China threatens the European economy.
