Explosions in Kharkiv: enemy drone attack
According to inkorr.com: In the evening of October 5, Kharkiv was hit by a series of powerful explosions. According to monitoring channels, at least 12 explosions were heard in the city, reports 'Hlavkom'.
The mayor of Kharkiv confirmed that the city became a victim of a massive drone attack by the enemy. Head of the Kharkiv OVA Oleg Synegubov noted that information about the consequences of the attack is being collected.
“The threat from the air remains. Do not leave shelters until the alarm is over. Take care of yourselves!”, he added.
Attack by Russian troops
On the night of October 5, Russian military carried out a new massive strike on civilian gas infrastructure facilities, which are critically important for the winter period. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky commented on this large-scale nighttime attack that covered a large part of the country.
The regions under fire included Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zaporizhzhia, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Kherson, Odesa, and Kirovohrad. “As of now, about 10 people are known to have been injured in the attack. Unfortunately, five have died. I express my sincere condolences to all who have lost loved ones due to this terror,” Zelensky stated.
The president emphasized that the Russians have again targeted infrastructure that is vital for people.The situation in Ukraine after the explosions in Kharkiv and the nighttime attack by Russian troops remains extremely complicated, with significant human and material losses. Measures are being taken by the state and local authorities to ensure the safety of citizens and protect critical infrastructure. These events underscore the need to be prepared for possible new attacks and to continue working on strengthening the country's defense capabilities.
