Port Infrastructure Hit in Odesa Region

According to Novyny.live: On March 28, Russian forces launched an attack on port infrastructure in the Odesa region using explosive drones. The assault caused significant damage, including to a grain gallery and an empty storage tank. According to local officials, no casualties were reported in this specific incident.

“There is no information about casualties. All relevant services are working,” stated Oleh Kiper.
He also added that “the situation is under control.”

Massive Strike on Odesa City

Separately, during the night of March 28, Russian forces carried out a large-scale attack on the city of Odesa using over 60 drones. Preliminary reports indicate 12 people were wounded and 2 were killed. Extensive destruction was recorded in the Prymorskyi district, particularly in the Khadzhybeiskyi and Kyivskyi areas.

This is not the first time Russian troops have targeted port infrastructure. In 2026, more than 180 attacks on facilities in Odesa and Chornomorsk have already been documented. By comparison, there were approximately 150 such attacks in 2025, highlighting the persistent threat to ports in this region.

The ongoing strikes on port infrastructure in the Odesa region underscore the strategic importance of this area for Ukraine, especially since the start of the full-scale war. These ports are vital for export shipments, particularly grain, and their repeated targeting creates serious economic and humanitarian challenges. Given the rising number of attacks, it is crucial that the international community continues to focus on the situation in Ukraine and supports the country's efforts to protect critical infrastructure.
