Russian Military Strikes Across Zaporizhzhia and Sumy Regions
According to UATV: The Russian military has launched a massive assault on Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia and Sumy regions, delivering close to 900 strikes. These attacks have left three people dead and ten others wounded. Over the past day, 42 settlements in Zaporizhzhia Oblast came under fire. In the city of Zaporizhzhia, a drone strike ignited a residential building, killing a woman and injuring three people, including an 11-year-old boy. Regional military administration head Ivan Fedorov confirmed the boy is now under medical supervision.
Weapons Used and Resulting Damage
To carry out these attacks, Russian forces deployed drones, artillery, aerial bombs, and multiple rocket launchers (MLRS). In Sumy Oblast, a large-scale fire broke out after a drone strike, with a child among the victims. In the city of Sumy, a drone hit the roof of an apartment building. Ukraine’s State Emergency Service reported that in the Hlukhiv community, drone attacks sparked a massive blaze.
These events highlight the escalating violence in the region, where civilians continue to suffer the consequences of ongoing military operations.
The situation in eastern Ukraine remains tense, as fresh Russian attacks underscore the conflict’s duration and intensity.
