According to Novyny.live: On June 19, 2023, Russian forces launched an attack on Kharkiv using guided aerial bombs, causing casualties and widespread destruction. Ten people were injured in the shelling, among them four children. This assault triggered massive fires and damage across multiple areas of the city.

In particular, a large-scale fire broke out in Kharkiv's Kholodnohirskyi district. The damage to infrastructure was also severe:

• over 40 private homes were destroyed or damaged;
• approximately 155 windows were shattered;
• 21 roofs were damaged.

These events serve as yet another reminder of the ongoing humanitarian crisis gripping the region.

Other Attacks in the Area

Meanwhile, on June 18, in the village of Ukrainske in the Chuhuiv district, a 65-year-old woman was killed by an FPV drone strike, and a 66-year-old man was hospitalized with injuries. In the village of Zavodske, a drone attack completely burned down a private home. In Novyi Burluk, a fire destroyed an apartment building.

On June 16, Russian forces also targeted Kharkiv with attack drones, injuring at least four people. Local residents continue to express fear and anxiety over the relentless shelling. One Kharkiv resident shared her experience:

“I jumped. I was really terrified. It felt like it was right behind our building, but it turned out to be one building over. One of our windows blew out, and tiles in the hallway fell off. Otherwise, thank God, it wasn't worse. But it's scary, girls, it's scary. When will they stop shelling?”

The situation in the region remains tense, and local residents are hoping for an improvement in security conditions in the future.

The attacks on Kharkiv and surrounding areas continue to underscore the precarious security situation in Ukraine, where civilians are bearing the brunt of the conflict.
