According to the SBU, the cyber attack on the state registries of the Ministry of Justice was carried out by Russian special services. This information was provided to the Security Service of Ukraine by Volodymyr Karastelov, head of the Cybersecurity Department of the SBU, during a joint briefing with Minister of Justice Olha Stefanishyna.

According to him, the SBU has started a criminal investigation regarding the cyber attack and has established that it was carried out by a hacking group linked to the Russian Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU). He also noted that the investigation is being conducted under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which pertains to violations of the laws and customs of war.

Olha Stefanishyna reported that the activities of the state registries of the Ministry of Justice were suspended, but work is currently underway to restore them. All data stored in the registries will also be restored. Moreover, she emphasized that the cyber attack did not affect the operation of other information systems of the state.

It should be noted that on December 19, a large-scale cyber attack on Ukraine's state registries was carried out, which was restored by specialists over a certain period of Time. No threats to the functioning of other resources were identified.

It is also worth mentioning that it was previously reported about a failure in the 'Reserve+' application.
