McDonald's has removed a popular breakfast roll from the menu: What comes next?.
According to The Sun: McDonald's has made significant changes to its breakfast menu, disappointing many fans.
The popular breakfast roll has recently disappeared from the menu.
The breakfast roll from McDonald's, served with ketchup or brown sauceThis roll was introduced in 2020 and remained until recently.
A representative from McDonald's confirmed that the popular item was removed earlier this month.
The breakfast roll's ingredients included smoked bacon, a juicy sausage patty, melted cheese, and a free-range egg, served in a warm white bun.
Customers could choose between two sauces: ketchup or brown sauce.
Fans of McDonald's expressed their displeasure over this decision on the social network Reddit.
"Removing the breakfast roll... that is definitely an act of war?"
"No way? They removed the breakfast roll? No!"
"It's gone! I noticed it this morning when I passed by. So sad."
"This country is ruined..."
The McDonald's representative explained:
"We always change our menu according to our customers' wishes to maintain freshness and interest."
Instead of the breakfast roll, there is now a new product - a sausage sandwich, which is available nationwide after a successful test phase in northern England.
This sandwich contains a pork patty and melted cheese as well as the option to add ketchup or brown sauce.
The price for the sandwich is £1.99, but it can be bought in a meal deal with a selected drink for £2.99.
The new item is in the Save menu along with six other breakfast options like hash browns (£1.59), porridge (£1.69), and apple slices for 79 pence.
Other new items include bacon cheese in a flatbread for £1.99 and Tropicana juice (apple or orange juice) for £1.89.
Remember that the new sandwich can only be tried until 11 a.m., as breakfast is served only until that time.
The fast-food chain regularly updates its breakfast menu. For example, they brought back the popular breakfast wrap after its removal in January 2022.
More menu changes
McDonald's regularly improves its menu to delight customers with new offerings.
The last update took place on September 10, when popular dishes like Philly Cheese Stack and Mozzarella Dippers returned.
Additionally, Chicken Big Mac was added to the menu. However, some dishes have disappeared again, including Chilli Cheese Bites, Steakhouse Stack, Big Tasty, and Spicy Chicken McNuggets.
Also new is Loaded Caramel McFlurry, but it was quickly removed due to quality issues.
Some social media users complained about hard pieces in the dessert.
Therefore, Loaded Caramel McFlurry was quickly replaced by Toffee Crisp McFlurry - the return of the popular dessert.
How to save at McDonald's
You may pay a different price for lunch at McDonald's, depending on the restaurant chosen.
Studies have shown that a lunch with a Big Mac can be up to 30% cheaper in restaurants that are only two miles apart.
You can get a Big Mac and fries for £2.99 by filling out a survey on the receipt from McDonald's.
Your receipt must contain a 12-digit code that you can enter on the Food for Thought website along with your survey.
You will then receive a five-digit code that will become your voucher for the £2.99 offer.
There are also deals that are only available through the My McDonald's app, so it is worth signing up to get discounts on food.
The My McDonald's app can be downloaded on iPhone and Android and is easy to set up.
Additionally, you can receive free treats and discounts on your birthday if you use the My McDonald's app.
The chain recently sent a reminder to app users to fill out their birthday dates to not miss the special benefits.
Thus, the changes in McDonald's menu highlight consumer feedback, which plays an important role in shaping the chain's offerings. At the same time, new items can address the demand for fresh breakfast solutions while traditional favorites remain in the spotlight of consumer interest.
In the meantime, customer feedback can influence McDonald's future menu decisions as the company seeks to balance innovation with preserving traditions that fans enjoy.
