Voluntary Health Insurance in Ukraine: Which Services Are Already Covered by the NHSC.
In our country, there is a system of voluntary health insurance, but many services are already covered by the National Health Service. Sometimes insurance packages simply duplicate state services.
This was reported by former Deputy Minister of Health Natalia Lisnevskaya during an interview on Day.LIVE on August 8.
Health Insurance in Ukraine
Lisnevskaya explained that a system of voluntary health insurance is actively working in Ukraine, and most people choose private insurers. However, in some cases, the state pays for treatment under contract as well.
'I advise those who want to have insurance to cover what is not covered by the NHSC. Some insurance packages duplicate state services. For example, childbirth is fully included in the NHSC package, so additional payments can only be made for some additional services, such as a better hospital room', - the expert clarified.
She noted that the main difference is that through the state program, you may sometimes need to wait in line, while insurance allows you to receive the service faster in a private institution.
The Most Affordable Insurance Packages in Ukraine
Lisnevskaya explained why health insurance is the most affordable in our country. According to her, the cost of medical services here is quite low. Of course, there is expensive treatment, but typically it is not as costly as abroad.
It is worth remembering that the main measure to prevent viral hepatitis is to maintain hygiene, as explained by the head of the Lviv Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention Natalya Ivanchenco-Timko. Also, it is important to learn how to protect yourself from the bites of poisonous snakes, especially during summer travels.
