Boris Johnson's Memoirs Became a Bestseller in the United Kingdom

Boris Johnson's book "Unleashed" became the number one bestseller in the United Kingdom last week. 42,528 copies were sold in the first week after publication, reports The Guardian.

At the HarperCollins publishing house, they stated: "We are delighted to see that Boris Johnson's Unleashed has become the number one bestseller across the country this week. Boris is a natural writer, and Unleashed is a captivating account of the recent tumultuous years".

Johnson's book surpassed Tim Spector's cookbook "The Food for Life Cookbook" (29,732 copies) and "Midnight and Blue" by Ian Rankin (19,359 copies).

Unleashed describes Johnson's period in office as the Mayor of London, the Foreign Secretary, and the Prime Minister. Additionally, the book discusses COVID-19, Brexit, and the UK general elections in 2019.

Reviewer Martin Kettle wrote in his review in the Guardian: "Johnson's book gives his version of major events. While Johnson loves to flaunt his intellect, there isn't a single philosophical sentence in the entire book".

Boris Johnson was the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 2019 to 2022.

In his memoirs, Johnson mentioned that the cause of Queen Elizabeth II's death was a form of bone cancer. He knew about it at the Time of his resignation in September 2022. This is the first instance where a high-ranking UK politician has named a probable cause of death for the monarch, which was marked as "old age" in her official death certificate.
