June 29 Premiere on ATR: A Television Series Chronicles the Crimean Tatar Story.
ATR Channel Project
According to Espreso.tv: With support from the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, ATR television is launching a project dedicated to the history of the Crimean Tatar people. Historian and Crimea researcher Valeriy Vozgrin authored a four-volume work titled 'History of the Crimean Tatars,' covering events from ancient times through the mid-20th century. The Ukrainian translation of this academic study began in 2021, and work on the second volume is currently ongoing. This initiative aims to bring a comprehensive historical perspective to a broader audience.
Audiobook and Documentary Film
As part of the project, an audiobook called 'Worlds. Peoples. History of the Crimean Tatars' has also been produced. The translation project was curated by Vira and Iryna Pravylo. Future plans include creating a documentary film about Valeriy Vozgrin, which will help spread knowledge of Crimean Tatar history.
The premiere of the first program in this series is scheduled for June 29 at 8:00 PM on ATR. Beyond historical research, the project seeks to promote the cultural heritage of the Crimean Tatar people to a wider audience.
This effort supports the preservation and promotion of Crimean Tatar culture both within Ukraine and abroad, especially amid today’s challenges. The importance of historical works like Vozgrin’s lies in their ability to restore and safeguard the memory of the Crimean Tatar people, their traditions, and their contributions to Ukraine’s shared history.
