Statement from Germany’s Chancellor

According to UATV: On July 15 in Berlin, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz issued a warning that Russia is preparing further acts of aggression targeting the Baltic states, Moldova, and other parts of Europe. While noting that NATO currently maintains a sufficient level of deterrence, he stressed that the threat from Moscow remains very real.

Merz also highlighted that Germany itself is a target of Russian hybrid warfare. During his address, he stated:

'We see clear signs that Russia is getting ready for more aggression. This goes far beyond Ukraine: it threatens the Baltic countries, Moldova, and other European regions. We are facing large-scale sabotage, espionage attempts, and attacks on our information networks. All of this is part of a hybrid war being waged against Germany.' Friedrich Merz

Regional Situation

Meanwhile, according to reports from Lithuania, the country has not observed a buildup of Russian troops on its soil, but it has recorded aggressive actions by the Kremlin, indicating ongoing Russian activity in the region. The situation remains tense, and Germany continues to stay on high alert in response to potential threats.

Chancellor Merz’s remarks underscore the growing security concerns among European nations in the face of Russian aggression. They highlight the need for NATO to remain united and prepared for possible dangers. In light of recent developments, closer cooperation among European countries has become even more critical to ensuring stability in the region.
