Dead Lion in Dump: Police Released Investigation Results.
The National Police of the Rivne region completed the investigation into the circumstances under which the bodies of a lioness and other animals were found at the Kostopil plant. According to the inspection results, it was established that all the bodies were delivered in compliance with legal procedures and accompanied by the necessary documentation. This was reported by the Rivne police.
The police also conducted an investigation regarding the location of the lion's body at the Kostopil plant. According to the veterinary examination report, the lion, born in 2006, died due to a tumor in the abdominal cavity.
It was also established that all the animal bodies found on the special platform of the Kostopil plant for the disposal of animal waste were delivered with the necessary documents certifying the cause of death.
On Sunday, the bodies of a dead lion and other animals were found at the Kostopil animal waste disposal plant. Photos of the dead animal became known on social networks and Telegram channels of the Rivne region. The picture shows the body of a lion lying among bags, garbage bags, and other waste. It was revealed that the lion died from an oncological disease. Later, the Rivne zoo confirmed that the lioness found at the waste disposal plant died last week, and the zoo had an agreement with the Kostopil sanitary plant for animal disposal.
The deputy director of the Rivne zoo, Iryna Olifer, said that there is a long-term agreement between the zoo and the Kostopil plant for the disposal of deceased animals. She added that this is necessary for the production of bone meal.
