Microsoft adds ChatGPT competitor to Copilot: what will change for business.

Business users can choose between OpenAI and Anthropic models depending on their tasks - from digital research to developing their own solutions in the field of artificial intelligence.
New Copilot capabilities
Until now, the foundation of Copilot has been OpenAI models, with which Microsoft has a strategic partnership. These models support the functionality of such tools as Microsoft 365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, and the developer assistant. Now, Anthropic models will join them, including Claude Opus 4.1 for complex analytical tasks and Claude Sonnet 4 - a simpler version for basic use.
Competition in the market
Anthropic, founded by former OpenAI employees, is one of the main competitors to this startup and an important player in the market. Microsoft emphasizes that this decision reflects their desire to integrate the best innovations in the industry into their products.
