Mykhailo Fedorov Speaks Out on Ukraine's Mobilization Challenges

According to Espreso.tv: Ukraine's former Defense Minister, Mykhailo Fedorov, addressed the nation's mobilization issues during a public briefing and revealed he turned down an offer to serve as a presidential advisor after his dismissal. Fedorov explained that he had refrained from responding to criticism about mobilization for the past six months to prevent escalating tensions—a situation he claims was ultimately triggered by the Commander-in-Chief.

“For six months, I completely avoided responding to the hate surrounding mobilization, precisely to prevent the very situation that unfolded today—a crisis the Commander-in-Chief essentially led us into,” Fedorov stated.

He further emphasized that Territorial Recruitment Centers (TRCs) fall under the authority of the Ground Forces, while mobilization matters are overseen by the Commander-in-Chief and the General Staff.

Mobilization Hurdles and the Stakes for Ukraine

The expert pointed out that “it is impossible to solve the mobilization problem without addressing other underlying issues,” highlighting the risks facing Ukraine. “I never sought to keep my position; instead, I want to speak openly about the dangers ahead for Ukraine,” he added.

Fedorov's remarks underscore the urgent need for transparent debate on mobilization and its impact on Ukraine's military situation. His refusal of an advisory role signals not only a desire to avoid further conflict but also a call for a comprehensive approach to strengthening the country's defense capabilities. This development may serve as a wake-up call for Ukrainian authorities to reconsider their mobilization strategies and human resource management during wartime.
