Ministry of Economy and UNICEF signed an agreement: what will change in the field of water and waste.
According to inkorr.com: The Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine together with UNICEF signed an agreement regarding the management of water resources, waste, and environmental education for youth. A number of joint projects are planned to be implemented over the next two years.
Main areas of cooperation
The following activities are planned under the agreement:
- Improvement of water resource management;
- Creation of pilot clusters for waste management;
- Enhancement of environmental education for youth;
- Adaptation of European standards in Ukraine.
Plans for the future
The Ministry and UNICEF plan to intensify cooperation through the updating of the Memorandum, conducting information campaigns, creating a national water cadastre, and pilot clusters for waste management. Programs will also be developed to engage youth in eco-policy and legislative changes in the field of waste and chemical safety will be introduced.
Importance of the agreement
This agreement between the Ministry of Economy and UNICEF is a significant step towards sustainable development and environmental protection in Ukraine. It aims at effective management of water resources, reducing waste, and increasing environmental awareness among society, especially among youth.
