Young Scientists from 2026: Who Will Receive Thousands of Hryvnias Monthly.
Changes in Ukraine's Scientific Field
According to inkorr.com: The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has announced important changes that will affect the scientific community of the country starting in 2026. One of the key initiatives will be the creation of the 'National Researcher System'. This also includes a new funding formula aimed at supporting young scientists and enhancing competition.
Support for Young Researchers
The Minister of Education and Science, Oksen Lisovyi, presented a ranking of individual achievements of researchers. According to this ranking, the top 2.6 thousand leaders will receive a scholarship of 10,000 Hryvnias per month. These measures are designed to support young scientists, promote their mobility, and stimulate competition among research institutions.
New Funding Formula
Starting in 2026, a new formula for the basic funding of research institutions will be introduced, based on the results of state accreditation. This will allow for more efficient distribution of financial resources, providing additional support only to those institutions that have confirmed their high level of effectiveness during accreditation.
Thus, the new initiatives from the Ministry of Education and Science will contribute to increasing competition in the scientific environment, developing young researchers, and more efficient use of funds for scientific research in Ukraine.
The introduced changes may significantly impact the development of science in Ukraine. The system of support for young scientists and new financial mechanisms open up new opportunities for the scientific community. These initiatives are also aimed at ensuring more effective use of state resources, which is an important step in improving the quality of scientific research.
