Venezuela claims US attack: Ministry of Defense puts the army on full combat readiness.
Statement by the Minister of Defense of Venezuela
According to ТСН: The Minister of Defense of Venezuela, Vladimir Padrino Lopez, made a decisive statement after the events of January 3, emphasizing the commitment of the Venezuelan armed forces and the people.
In his video address, he noted that the country had become a victim of military aggression from the United States. The enemy attempted to penetrate the rear through gas communications in the areas of Fuerte-Tuna, Caracas, as well as in the states of Miranda, Aragua, and La Guaira, shelling civilian infrastructure with combat helicopters.
“We will not negotiate, we will not surrender, and we will ultimately triumph. We have been attacked, but we will not be broken. United, the soldiers and the people will create an unbreakable wall of resistance. Our calling is peace, but our legacy is the struggle for freedom. We, who extend the hand of brotherhood, today clench our fists to defend what is ours. Let us unite, for in the unity of the people we will find the strength for resistance and victory,” he said.
The minister also reported that the Bolivarian National Armed Forces have been put on full combat readiness. All land, air, and naval forces, as well as missile units, are actively involved in protecting the sovereignty of the country and supporting peace. He urged citizens to remain calm and united, emphasizing that chaos and fear are tools of the enemy.
“Honor, duty, and history call us. Let the cry of the free homeland echo in every corner. Victory will be ours, for truth and dignity are on our side. We will prevail. Long live the Fatherland!” the minister concluded.
Recall that earlier in the capital of Venezuela, Caracas, explosions occurred, the southern part of the city was left without electricity, and Chinook helicopters were spotted over the city. It was also reported that American troops, according to the US president, captured Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, taking them out of the country.
Moreover, news was received about the shelling of the Venezuelan parliament building, and the residence of the Minister of Defense, the port in the capital, and military facilities on Margarita Island were also hit. Gunfire was heard on the streets of Caracas and neighboring cities, including Igeroti and La Guaira.
These events indicate an escalation of the situation in the country and a possible increase in tension in relations with international forces. It is important to monitor the developments in Venezuela, as they may significantly impact regional stability and security.
