Trump stated about the key role of the USA in the world for Ukraine: what does it mean.
The Ukrainian head of the financial committee of the Verkhovna Rada, Danilo Hetmantsev, emphasized the importance of US support for achieving peace in Ukraine. He expressed the belief that the position of US President Donald Trump regarding reconciliation is very beneficial for our country.
The role of the USA in the peace process: main points
'Definitely, peace is not possible without the position, mediation of the USA and such an active stance in the reconciliation process that President Trump currently occupies', Hetmantsev emphasized.
Hetmantsev noted that it is precisely the American leader who can set conditions for the aggressor that will contribute to achieving peace. At the same time, he stated that Ukraine is actively participating in negotiations and consultations, and President Volodymyr Zelensky personally takes part in resolving these issues.
'We hope that the difficult decisions we will have to make will be as optimal as possible for our country', he summarized.
Recently, President Trump expressed the view that territorial concessions from Ukraine are necessary; however, he allows our country to decide independently which territories to give up. It is currently expected that Trump will demand a ceasefire and the participation of Zelensky in negotiations at his meeting with Putin.
The head of the financial committee of the Verkhovna Rada expressed confidence that US support is very important for Ukraine in the process of achieving peace. He emphasized President Trump's active role in reconciliation and hopes for optimal solutions for the country. He also noted the active participation of the Ukrainian side in negotiations and expectations from the meeting between President Trump and Putin.
