Serhiy Koretsky Addresses Parliament

According to Espreso.tv: During his parliamentary address, Serhiy Koretsky laid out his vision for Ukraine’s new Cabinet of Ministers, zeroing in on the administration’s most urgent tasks. He praised Ihor Klymenko as a strong and highly competent minister, well-equipped to tackle the nation’s pressing challenges. Koretsky stressed that the government must concentrate on three fundamental areas:

  • a defense-oriented government,
  • a government focused on economic growth,
  • a government driving European integration.

Among the new cabinet’s immediate priorities, Koretsky highlighted equipping the Defense Forces, expanding the defense-industrial complex, and providing support for civilians and frontline communities.

“I want this Cabinet of Ministers to be a government of defense, a government of economic development, and a government of European integration,” he stated.
He also emphasized that successfully managing the upcoming heating season will require special attention and effort from the administration.

Track Record and Strategic Goals

Koretsky also reviewed his own leadership at Ukrnafta and Naftogaz, underscoring the importance of backing internally displaced persons and veterans. He declared:

“Veterans are our absolute priority—they have been and always will be.”
Ukraine’s path toward European Union membership remains unwavering.
“Ukraine will become a member of the European Union,” Koretsky affirmed, adding: “I promise that the government will do everything possible and necessary on this journey.”

On July 15, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy submitted a proposal to parliament nominating Serhiy Koretsky for the post of prime minister. The following day, the Verkhovna Rada Committee approved his candidacy. Koretsky’s speech to the legislature outlined the new government’s main priorities and its commitments to the people of Ukraine.

This address underscores the strategic objectives of the incoming administration amid an ongoing war and significant economic hurdles. The priorities he set forth reflect the critical need to bolster national defense, stimulate the economy, and advance EU integration—goals essential for Ukraine’s stability and progress. Achieving them will require cohesive teamwork within the government and broad public support.
