Those affected by shelling in Kyiv are waiting for compensation for six months: why is it taking so long.
People's Deputy Hennadiy Kryvosheya revealed the problem of the prolonged procedure for allocating compensation to those affected by shelling in Kyiv. From the first inspection to the actual receipt of funds, residents have to wait an average of 6-8 months, which, according to the deputy, is an unacceptable delay, especially in winter.
'I calculated all the stages. If we want to allocate funds from the Reserve Fund, the procedure includes up to 15 steps. And on average it takes six, five, or sometimes even eight months', - said Hennadiy Kryvosheya.
The deputy believes that the new resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers should simplify this process, but there are still doubts about its effectiveness. After serious shelling in the Holosiivskyi district of the capital in February 2024, the situation with payments for assistance remains critical. Residents of damaged buildings, in addition to losing their roofs, face difficulties in utility services. There is also the question of ownership rights to the destroyed residential facilities and their future fate.
