Mitsubishi has unveiled the new electric Eclipse Cross: details of the 2026 model.
According to Korrespondent.net: Mitsubishi continues to strengthen its position in the European market through its partnership with Renault. The new electric Eclipse Cross 2026 is an upgraded version of the Scenic E-Tech, presented two years ago. According to Motor1, this model has become the fourth vehicle built on the Renault platform: previously, the Colt (Clio), ASX (Captur), and Grandis (Symbioz) were released.

However, Japanese engineers have done everything possible to distinguish the new model from the original Scenic. They altered the hood, radiator grille, and bumpers, and also added new wheel rims of 19 or 20 inches in diameter. Metallic decorative inserts appeared on the rear pillars. However, the model's silhouette still hints at its French origins.
Interior and Technical Specifications
The interior shares many similarities with Renault: there is a dual-screen panel featuring a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a vertical 12-inch touchscreen. Mitsubishi has added new upholstery materials and seating. In higher trim levels, there will be a panoramic roof with electrochromic film that changes the transparency of the glass.
The crossover is built on the CMF-EV platform. The base version will receive an electric motor with 215 hp and 300 Nm of torque. Acceleration to 100 km/h will take 8.4 seconds, and the maximum speed will reach 170 km/h. A battery with a capacity of 87 kWh will provide a range of up to 600 km according to the WLTP cycle and supports fast charging at 150 kW.
In 2026, a version with a smaller 60 kWh battery is also planned, which will ensure a range of about 420 km. In the Scenic with this configuration, the power will be 168 hp and 280 Nm.
Production of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross will begin in the fourth quarter of this year at Renault's factory in Douai (France).
Currently, Mitsubishi only has two own models left in Europe - the Space Star and Outlander. The company does not plan to actively invest in the development of new electric vehicles, as its market share is only 0.4% for the first seven months of the year.
The success of the Eclipse Cross model could be an important step for Mitsubishi, as the company searches for opportunities to strengthen its position in the European electric vehicle market. Collaborations with Renault could prove effective, especially in the face of growing demand for electric transportation.
