Today, December 5, we celebrate International Volunteer Day, which was established by the UN General Assembly in 1985. Volunteers are people who work for the good of society and their country for free.

In Ukraine, the volunteer movement began to form in the 1990s, with its rapid development occurring in 2014 when Russia started the war. In 2022, this holiday holds special significance for the country. Volunteers play an important role in supporting the Armed Forces of Ukraine, organizing collections and providing the military with everything they need - from medicines and supplies to transport and weapons. Their selfless work significantly eases the lives of the Ukrainian army.
