Ukrainian Dairy Prices Set to Rise by Up to 12% by 2026.
Dairy Prices on the Rise
According to TSN.ua: Prices for dairy products in Ukraine are projected to increase by up to 12% by the end of March 2026. Forecasts indicate that by March 2026, the average price for a bottle of milk will reach 60 hryvnias. This increase is occurring against a backdrop of general consumer price inflation, which was reported at 1% as of February 2026. These price hikes are part of a broader inflationary trend affecting the country's food supply.
The primary factors driving up dairy prices are:
- rising logistics costs,
- increased export volumes,
- operational difficulties for farms,
- a shrinking dairy herd.
As noted by expert Maksym Hopka, these factors will "be reflected on price tags after some time."
Vegetable Prices Also Climbing
In addition to dairy, Ukraine is also experiencing rising costs for vegetables. Current prices include:
- garlic ranging from 115 to 125 hryvnias per kilogram,
- white cabbage costing 10-12 hryvnias per kilogram,
- onions priced at 68 hryvnias per kilogram,
- potatoes available for 10-14 hryvnias per kilogram,
- apples on the market costing between 30 and 45 hryvnias per kilogram.
Consequently, Ukrainian consumers should anticipate further price increases for staple food items, particularly dairy and vegetables.
The rising costs for these essential goods reflect a broader inflationary trend in Ukraine, which experts predict may continue in the coming years. This directly impacts the population's standard of living, as higher food prices can reduce consumers' purchasing power. Government and economic organizations may be compelled to implement measures to stabilize prices and support the agricultural sector to prevent more severe fluctuations in the food market.
