Monobank Introduces Fee for Card Deposits via EasyPay Terminals

According to Novyny.live: Starting July 1, 2026, Monobank will impose a 5 UAH fee for card top-ups made through EasyPay terminals. Customers using these machines to reload their Monobank cards will be charged this amount. In contrast, topping up cards from other partner banks in the EasyPay network will remain free of charge.

The fee initiative comes directly from the bank itself. Representatives from EasyPay have stated that 'the introduction of a fee for Monobank card top-ups at our terminals is the bank's own decision.' This change has sparked discussions among the bank's customers who rely on its services.

New Regulations and Alternatives

Additionally, since June 26, 2023, Ukraine has implemented new rules for self-service terminals, requiring verification via SMS code or phone call. These changes affect both Monobank clients and users of other banks.

Card top-ups through other terminals, such as Monobox, Abank, and City24, will remain free. Services from the following banks will also continue to be free:

  • Ukrposhta
  • A-Bank
  • Universal Bank
  • Ukrgasbank
  • Akordbank

This allows customers to choose the most convenient way to top up their cards without extra costs.

The introduction of a fee for Monobank card top-ups via EasyPay terminals may influence how customers decide to reload their accounts. Since other terminals remain free, users might switch to alternative options. The verification changes also aim to enhance security when using terminals, though they could impact the speed and convenience of transactions.
