Salmonella Outbreak at Hotel in Spain: Over 100 Tourists Poisoned by Buffet.
According to The Sun: Among the victims, 20 children were hospitalized due to suspected salmonella poisoning at the four-star Izan Cavanna hotel in the popular resort of La Manga near Murcia.
A field hospital was also set up at the seaside hotel after guests experienced nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and in some cases fever after lunch on Saturday at the hotel.
More than 100 out of 800 guests are considered infected, two of whom are currently receiving treatment in the hospital for their symptoms.
Local health sources said that they are currently treating this as a possible salmonella poisoning outbreak.
It is still unknown how many British and Irish holidaymakers are staying at the hotel.
The hotel has not made any official comments on its Instagram, Facebook, or website.
