On October 28, 2024, in the Donetsk region, near the village of New York in the Bakhmut district, while defending the Motherland, 24-year-old Daniil Aleksandrovich Yegorov, a rower of the national team, died. He was only 24 years old, and his adult life was just beginning...
According to the Ukrainian Rowing Federation, Daniil Yegorov was born on February 16, 2000, in the village of Matveevka, Vilnian district of the Zaporizhzhia region. The young man began rowing in the Zaporizhzhia region under the coach Gaponenko Volodymyr Pylypovych, later representing the Mykolaiv region. He studied at the Mykolaiv VUFY and the Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding.
Daniil was a member of the national rowing team of Ukraine from 2016 to 2024. Under the guidance of coach Pavlo Mykhailovych Pryshutov, he planned and dreamed of winning championships in Ukraine and representing Ukraine at European and World Championships until his last day.
Daniil - an invincible champion, bronze medalist of the 2017 European Junior Championships, silver medalist of the 2019 European Under-23 Championships.
From the first day of the invasion, Daniil fought on the hottest front lines, served in the "Azov" regiment.
The defender of Ukraine was awarded the honorary badges of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine "Golden Cross" (06.09.2023) and "For Saving Lives" (30.01.2024).
Daniil Yegorov died in battle for Ukraine on October 28, 2024, near the village of New York in the Bakhmut district of the Donetsk region.
"Glavkom" joins the minute of silence. We honor the memory of all Ukrainians who died fighting for the Motherland. We remember those who died at the hands of Russian invaders, light candles of remembrance, and bow our heads in sorrow during the national minute of silence, honoring the bright memory of the citizens of Ukraine who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state: all military, civilians, and children, all who died in the fight against Russian occupiers and as a result of enemy troops' attacks on Ukrainian cities and villages.
