The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminds about documents for traveling abroad by car: what you need to have with you.
According to inkorr.com: The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine has informed citizens about the documents required for traveling abroad by car. The main service center of the agency has published a detailed list of documents that drivers must have when crossing the border.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the list of documents depends on which convention the destination country has joined - the Vienna or Geneva Convention on Road Traffic. In some countries, a national driver's license is sufficient, while in others, an additional international one is required.
To travel abroad in their own vehicle, Ukrainians will need: a national or international driver's license, vehicle registration certificate, identification mark of Ukraine on the car, 'Green Card' (car insurance for travel abroad), and license plates. In some countries, additional confirmation of the technical condition of the vehicle may be required.
Recommendations for Drivers
International driver's licenses can be obtained at any service center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The agency recommends that drivers check the requirements of each country they plan to visit, as the documents may vary.
Changes for Drivers in Ukraine
In Ukraine, there are clear age restrictions for drivers depending on the category of the vehicle. From the age of 16, it is allowed to drive mopeds and motorcycles, from 18 years - passenger cars and trucks up to 7.5 tons, and for driving a bus, one must be at least 21 years old.
The Verkhovna Rada is considering a bill that could introduce innovations for elderly drivers. The initiative provides for mandatory medical and psychological examinations for drivers over 65 years old to enhance road safety, which complies with European practices.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has appealed to Ukrainians, providing detailed information about the documents necessary for trips abroad by car, considering the conventional requirements of the destination country. It also emphasizes the importance of adhering to age restrictions for drivers and possible changes in legislation aimed at improving road safety.
