UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy sharply criticized statements by Russian President Vladimir Putin about the possible use of nuclear weapons. He called these threats "throwing dust in the eyes" and a typical move by Putin.

Lammy, responding to a question about whether he considers the Russian threats to be false, emphasized that such statements are part of the Kremlin's tactics aimed at attacking the international community. He believes that these verbal attacks are an attempt to distract attention from real problems, particularly aggression against Ukraine.

We must not allow ourselves to be misled by the statements of a fascist who has no intention of stopping his attacks on Ukraine, - said the head of the UK Foreign Office.

Lammy also raised the issue of the possibility of granting Ukraine permission to use long-range weapons against targets within Russia. He noted that decisions on military aid should be made jointly with allies and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, taking into account the battlefield situation.

He emphasized that no war can be won with one weapon alone; a comprehensive approach and coordination of efforts by many countries and types of weaponry are necessary for victory.

Analysts assessed whether Putin would dare to escalate nuclear threats in response to strikes on Russia.
